Confession: I Will Be On the Edge of My Seat at 6 pm Tonight
Over the past year or so, my happiness and home life have become increasingly influenced by the whims and wisdom of a man who looks like an orangutan. His name is Bruce Arena.

And so it comes to this: I am nervous, actually, honestly nervous, about the imminent selection of the World Cup roster.

Worry not, dear Elissa, for I believe Taylor will make the cut...

I'm still holding out illogically for Jimmy.
I also think Bruce will pick one, but no more than one, player who has not attended any of the recent MNT games.
Let's just hope someone fed Bruce his bananas before he goes on the air, or things could get...uglier.

In watching recent MNT games I've become a fan of Ben Olsen and am hoping he makes it, even if at the expense of a better player who is injured or has not been getting as much playing team overseas.

I'm worried about Twellman because his MLS season has gotten off to a rough start. He's definitely played better than Ching in international play, but Ching's started strong for the Dynamo this year. But... I think Taylor squeaks in. Feigl plays!
I, too, irrationally hope for Jimmy. Balboa seems to think Jimmy's going, but that's an affirmation which does little to inspire my confidence. Marcy just has nice hair. Is it mean to say that I think Berhalter should stay home?
The Washington Post is reporting that Ben Olsen is on the team and knows it. I think he's a solid choice, what with the good hustle and all.
Noel, are you proud?

Surely there are mixed feelings - while Taylor did not make it, he was replaced by the first ever Hawaiin. Bittersweet, bittersweet.

The feelings are as mixed as a plate of chop suey. I still can't really believe that Ching is going. I think that threw almost everyone off. And Jimmy! An unexpected consolation prize. I can't wait to read his column about this. Brian, you must be happy; Olsen's there, too.

You got your Hawiaiin representative, and we got our Carolina boys. Onyewu, the Clemson boy (though I no longer hold it against him) and Wolff, a star forward from USC. Yippee
